Ride for Cause – World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day, first established in 1991 is celebrated every year on November 14th to raise awareness about the growing health concerns diabetes poses to our society.
Former Education Minister Sri. Suresh Kumar raises the flag from the Ram Mandir Grounds.
SHE for Society is proud to have been a part of the great initiative by Sparsha Foundation Gayathri Suresh, Special Initiative Riders Ganesh Prasad and She for Society (biking groups) and other associates in Dommana Kuppe village in Tumkur District on World Diabetes Day. A free diabetes general check-up, diabetic foot check, and diabetic retinopathy screening were performed for approximately 200 villagers. The foundation provided free diabetic footwear, spectacles with lenses, and medications.
We thank everyone who sponsored us and the IAGSC team of doctors who volunteered.
We were elated to be a part of this noble cause and would like to thank the organisers for letting us take part in the event. All of this occurred alongside some delicious food and beverages provided by our hosts. We ended the evening by making new friends, working together, and planning more rides – all for a good cause.
