World Environment day – 10,000 Seed balls dispersion

Plant a tree and Save the Earth

Global warming is a fact, and it is quickly becoming a bigger and bigger threat. Not only have we taken the environment for granted, but it has also been brutally abused. With covid cases on the rise all over the world, we witnessed the horrifying situation in which a lack of oxygen killed thousands of precious lives. As informed and educated citizens, each of us has a moral obligation to serve Mother Earth by giving back what we have greedily consumed. As the saying goes –

“WE HAVE BORROWED THIS PLANET FROM OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS AND NOT INHERITED IT FROM OUR PREVIOUS ONES !”

With this in mind, She for Society has always recognised and undertaken projects to serve the same. On World Environment Day, we revitalised a lake in Lakkappanahalli, a village on Mysore Road. In the parachute training regiment centre, we created a biodiversity park with 500 different types of trees and plants that attract birds and butterflies. Nearly 1000 medicinal plants were distributed to encourage people to create their own green space at home.
This year, our SHE team has decided to disperse up to 10,000 seed balls on the banks of the Vrushabhavati river at Bangalore University, as it is the ideal time for germination.

We would like to thank all bikers as well as those who accompanied us in cars and participated in this responsible act and supported the green initiative.
