Ride for Purpose – Felicitating 100 Jawan families in Kolar with Solar panel kits
SHE FOR SOCIETY CREATED HISTORY
It was not an easy task to host a grand and successful event of the calibre. She for Society envisioned.
What went into its creation is now a well-deserved piece of history.
Karnataka witnessed an event that was possibly the first of its kind during the 72nd Republic Day celebrations. She organised a biking rally from Hoskote in Bengaluru to Kolar in Kolar.
Around 300 enthusiastic bikers turned out to support the cause of the organised ride. This rally drew around 100 enthusiastic participants in their cars and jeeps. The goal of the Ride for a Purpose in Kolar was to honour 100 Army Jawan / Sainik Veteran families. The Kolar district alone has over 5000 Army Veteran families; the fourth generation is currently serving in the Army, and the fifth generation is on the way.
These families are experiencing economic insecurity.
She for Society, having identified the pressing needs of the families through their groundwork, recognised the need for Solar Panels to assist with their extensive power outages.
Solar self-installation kits were donated to these 100 families.
The ceremony was preceded and honoured by famous personalities such as Kothur Dr G Manjuath, Former Mulbagal MLA; S. Muniswamy, MP, Kolar; C. Sathyabhama, Deputy Commissioner, Kolar; and Karthik Reddy, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kolar.
She for Society is an NGO that works to support the families of Indian Armed Forces Martyrs and raise awareness about the contributions of the Indian Defense Force to our nation.
